Guangzhou continues to vigorously develop the automotive industry in the process of promoting new urbanization. We will strive to achieve an annual production capacity of 4.5 million vehicles by 2015 and the total output value will exceed RMB 650 billion.

Lin Zhongjian, head of Huadu District, disclosed that from 2002, Dongfeng Nissan’s predecessor, Fengshen Automobile, had an annual output of 29,000 vehicles and this year’s target of 1 million vehicles. In ten years’ time, the linear production volume has quadrupled, an increase of 33.4 times. At present, the automobile industry in Huadu has experienced explosive growth. The annual output increased from 5.517 billion yuan in 2002 to 123.32 billion yuan in 2011, an increase of more than 20 times. The annual tax revenue increased from 567 million yuan in 2002 to 11.2 billion yuan in 2011, an increase of nearly 20 times. In the first half of this year, with the overall downturn in the domestic economy and the sluggish growth in the auto industry, Huadu Automobile Industry achieved an output value of RMB 63.722 billion, which still maintained a double-digit growth of 12.5%.

At present, Huadu has become a complete domestic production chain for complete vehicles, engines, gearboxes, automotive R&D, and automotive education. Currently, Nissan has 28 of the 30 first-tier suppliers worldwide that have gathered in Huadu. Among them, 13 of the world’s top 500 companies have a total investment of over 20 billion yuan. The base of the automotive industry chain extends to dozens of countries and regions, as many as hundreds of industrial areas, is the province's current industrial chain with the highest degree of relevance, technology chain, capital chain is the most prominent, the best combination of the two effects of the base. Known by the industry and experts as "one of the most complete and fastest-growing regions in China's automobile industry chain", Huadu's auto parts companies achieved a total industrial output value of 29.11 billion yuan in 2011, a year-on-year increase of 23.6%.
