In August 2012, the automobile production and sales volume showed a certain range of growth compared with the same period of the previous year. From January to August of 2012, the year-on-year growth of automobile production and sales increased by 0.35 and 0.56 percentage points respectively from the previous July, and continued to show a steady upward trend.

From January to August, the above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 109.93 million vehicles, accounting for 88.12% of the total sales of automobiles.
In August, the top ten commercial vehicle sales companies were: Beiqi Foton, Dongfeng, Jinbei, Jianghuai, Jiangling, FAW, SAIC-GM-Wuling, Chongqing Lifan, Nanqi, and Great Wall, with sales of 42900 units and 37,900 units respectively.
