Winnetka updates their apparatus
The Winnetka Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 3, has introduced a fresh look with their newly commissioned quint. The 2010 Smeal quint was delivered with a black roof, and the department designed an updated door seal. The new design features a gold and black Maltese cross that incorporates both the Winnetka and Kenilworth names. Engine 28, a 2000 Pierce Saber, now has a black top, the new decal, and updated striping. Ambulance 28 also received the same updates. However, Engine 28R and Ambulance 28R still retain the original appearance with the older door decal.

When the department first received Truck 28 in 1990, the graphics were much simpler, and the door seal featured a sun rising over a lake.

Before the switch to Station 28, the department had a 55-foot Snorkel in the station as well.
Engine 28 now sports a black roof along with a triple stripe and the new door seal.

The old design on Engine 28 included lettering on the rear door listing both Winnetka and Kenilworth. The new decal keeps those names but provides more space for a cleaner, more modern graphic showing the unit number.
