Lake Bluff 2-11 Alarm

A fire was reported this morning in Lake Bluff, and due to a visible header from the fire station, the alarm was immediately upgraded to a working fire before the first unit even arrived. Firefighters responded to 113 Woodland Avenue and found heavy smoke coming from the structure. The situation quickly escalated into a MABAS Box Alarm. Lake Bluff received assistance from Knollwood and Lake Forest on the initial response, while units from Highwood, Highland Park, North Chicago, Libertyville, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Countryside were dispatched as part of the box alarm. Approximately 30 minutes after the initial call, a second alarm was requested when the fire broke through the roof. The older Tudor-style home required extensive overhaul, which meant multiple companies had to rotate in for relief. Tim Olk was nearby and arrived just after the first units, while Jeff Rudolph also made it to the scene and captured several photos. Some of Tim’s images will be posted in an update.
