Lake Bluff 2-11 Alarm
A fire was reported this morning in Lake Bluff, and due to the visible smoke from the fire station, the alarm was immediately upgraded to a working fire before the first unit even arrived. Firefighters reached 113 Woodland Avenue and found heavy smoke coming from the building. Shortly after, the fire was escalated to a MABAS Box Alarm. Lake Bluff received assistance from Knollwood and Lake Forest on the initial response, while units from Highwood, Highland Park, North Chicago, Libertyville, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Countryside were dispatched as part of the box alarm. A second alarm was called 30 minutes later when the fire broke through the roof. The older Tudor-style home required extensive overhaul, and multiple companies were needed for relief.
Tim Olk was nearby when the call came in and arrived just after the first units. Jeff Rudolph also made it to the scene and captured several photos. Tim’s images will be shared in an upcoming update.
