Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology decided to establish a working group for the development and coordination of international standards for electric vehicles. The working group consists of nearly 40 member units such as domestic auto parts and power battery parts and components, power grid companies, research institutes, universities and industry organizations. The leader of the Equipment Industry Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Secretariat of the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee (China Automotive Technology and Research Center) undertake the work of the Secretariat. Each member unit selects experts to form an electric vehicle safety expert group, an electric vehicle and environmental expert group. Among them, the electric vehicle safety expert group is headed by China FAW Group Corporation, Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. is the deputy leader unit; the electric vehicle and environmental expert group is headed by Shanghai Automotive Group Co., Ltd., Shenzhen BYD Auto Co., Ltd. is the deputy leader unit. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that the establishment of the working group has promoted the innovation of China's electric vehicle standardization mechanism. The working group will give full play to the advantages of all parties in production, education and research and the role of the main body of the enterprise, provide strong support for China to participate in the formulation of global technical regulations for electric vehicles, provide technical support for the revision of electric vehicle national and industry standards, and improve the standard system for electric vehicles.
