Inverted U-tube high-pressure heater of Harbin Boiler Factory was successful

Recently, the 330,000-kilowatt inverted vertical three-stage heat transfer U-tube high-pressure heater, independently designed and developed by Harbin Boiler Factory Co., Ltd., successfully completed a 168-hour trial operation at Unit 6 of Huaneng Xinhua Power Plant. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s technological advancement. Prior to this achievement, the first two units—No. 3 and No. 4 of Huaneng Huaiyin Power Plant Phase II—were equipped with similar inverted vertical high-pressure heaters, which were introduced in October 2004 and February 2005, respectively. These units have been operating smoothly for over six months, with all performance metrics meeting or exceeding design specifications. This success confirms the reliability and efficiency of the inverted U-tube high-pressure heater technology developed by Harbin. In the context of China's large-capacity thermal power development, horizontal U-tube high-pressure heaters have traditionally dominated the market. However, vertical U-tube designs also hold a significant share, especially in certain applications. Before August 2003, only one domestic manufacturer was capable of producing inverted vertical high-pressure heaters for 300,000 kW-class units, while the rest of the market relied on imported solutions. To enhance its technical capabilities and break the monopoly in the vertical high-pressure heater segment, Harbin decided to take on this challenge and develop an advanced, domestically produced alternative. The design and structure of inverted vertical high-pressure heaters differ significantly from their horizontal counterparts. They are more complex and pose greater challenges in both design and manufacturing. In response, Harbin adopted a strategy of "self-development combined with the absorption of advanced technologies, going out and bringing in experts." By integrating technical insights from companies like Toshiba and Alstom, the company successfully developed a 330,000-kilowatt inverted vertical high-pressure heater. Field testing confirmed its excellent performance and reliable operation. To date, the product has already secured 10 orders, filling a critical gap in the market for large-capacity inverted U-tube high-pressure heaters. This achievement not only strengthens Harbin's position in the domestic power equipment industry but also represents a major step forward in China's efforts to achieve technological self-reliance in key energy infrastructure.

Spray Dryer

Liquid material is pumped into the top installed centrifugal disc atomizer by mono pump and atomized into fine droplets inside the drying chamber. Meanwhile, clean hot air is blown into the air distributor at the same time. The evenly and swirly distributed hot air completely contacts with droplets for heat transfer. The droplets are dried into powder in several seconds and sucked out into the cyclone for discharging via exhaust fan.
LPG series spray dryer has been widely used in health products, chemical, feedstuff, ceramics, plastic and foodstuff industry for drying liquid material into fine powder.
