Still and Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 9-16-18

Here's what Steve Redick shared:

The other night, I ended up at a small fire call just a stone's throw away from Engine 11’s station. I got there fairly quickly, but by the time I figured out which side of the building the flames were on, most of the action seemed to be winding down. There was a hose line deployed off Truck 9’s aerial ladder, but it looked like the firefighters inside had already managed to get the situation under control. I remember seeing one person being tended to by medics.

These photos really capture the intensity and teamwork involved in managing a fire. It’s always fascinating to see how quickly things can unfold, even when the initial response seems straightforward. The dedication of these firefighters is truly inspiring.
