Autodesk Announces HSMWorks and HSMXpress 2016
The latest release of the Autodesk HSMWorks product family has been officially announced today, offering fully integrated Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) solutions designed specifically for SolidWorks 2016. This new version includes HSMWorks and HSMXpress 2016, which are part of a larger suite of advanced manufacturing tools from Autodesk. These include Inventor HSM, CAM features within Fusion 360, Delcam products, TruNest, TruLaser, and the Factory Design Suite.
HSMWorks Professional 2016 introduces support for 3+2-axis strategies on CNC milling machines and also includes turning capabilities for CNC lathes. The Premium edition builds on this by adding full 5-axis simultaneous machining. Meanwhile, HSMXpress 2016 is a free tool that provides 2.5-axis milling capabilities. Both versions offer powerful, integrated CAM tools to enhance the design-to-manufacturing workflow for SolidWorks users.

- **Toolpath Generation Enhancements**: New options include morphed spiral toolpaths, rest machining for turning, stay-down linking, and even step-downs in adaptive clearing. - **Post Processing Updates**: The release now includes a CAMPlete interface, as well as support for generic Haas UMC 750, Haas Mill/Turn, factory-tested Datron, and generic Siemens turning machines.
