Shajiabang Accelerates Glass Mold Industry Upgrade

On October 30, Qin Satellite, deputy secretary of the CPC Changshu Municipal Committee, met with Meng Lingyan, chairman of the China Daily Glass Association, and was accompanied by Vice Mayor Shen Xiaodong.

Shajiabang Town in Changshu City is the main producing area of ​​glass molds in China and accounts for about two-thirds of the output of the same industry in the country. Some of Shajiabang’s high-end molds are exported to Europe and the United States. They are among the top 500 glass companies in the world, such as the United States Australia Union, France Saint-Gobain, bows and arrows, and other top glass products companies, with foreign trade revenue exceeding US$10 million. Today's Shajiabang has become a veritable "land of Chinese glass mold." Nowadays, this famous town in Jiangnan is once again famous in China. There are more than 100 glass mold enterprises, with an annual output of more than 500,000 sets of glass molds, sales of 500 million yuan, accounting for more than 60% of the domestic glass mold market share, the number of employees in the local 10% of the population.

The glass mold industry in Shajiabang Town started in the 1970s and rose rapidly in the 1980s. Especially in the past three years, investment in technical transformation of glass mold enterprises has been continuously increased, and advanced equipment at home and abroad has been continuously introduced. Jianhua Mould Co., Ltd. and Seiko Mould Co., Ltd. have invested human and material resources and have independently developed copper alloy glass molds, which have achieved “independent creation” from the entire process of casting to processing. This new product has filled the gap in the domestic glass mold industry. Jianhua Mould Company also took the lead in the domestic glass mold enterprises using overhead casting process, a change in the past traditional buried casting process, so that the cast mold quality and material stability has been improved. Seiko Mould Co., Ltd. is one of the first companies in China to industrialize the production of glass molds. Its excellent quality and dedication to excellence in quality have made the reputation of “die experts” well known in the industry. The two products of the company were identified as Jiangsu in 2008. Provincial high-tech products, and the United States, Australia, France Saint-Gobain, bows and other world's top glass products companies, built a close cooperative relationship.
