Know the "reciprocating pump"

A positive displacement pump that relies on a piston, a plunger, or a diaphragm to reciprocate in a cylinder to alternately increase and decrease the cylinder's internal working volume to deliver liquid or pressurize it. The reciprocating pump is divided into three types of piston pump, piston pump and diaphragm pump according to different reciprocating elements.

Application features: The main features of the reciprocating pump are: 1 High efficiency and wide area. 2 can reach very high pressure, pressure changes will not affect the flow, and thus can provide a constant flow. 3 It has self-priming ability and can transport liquid and gas mixture. It can also transport mud and concrete specially designed. 4 There is a large pulsation of flow and pressure, especially for single-acting pumps. The pulsation is greater due to the acceleration of piston movement and the discontinuity of liquid discharge. It is usually necessary to provide an air chamber on the discharge line (sometimes still on the suction line) to make the flow more uniform. The use of double-acting pumps and multi-cylinder pumps also significantly improves flow inhomogeneity. 5 The speed is low, the size is big, the structure is more complicated than the centrifugal pump, need special pump valve, the manufacturing cost and installation cost are higher. The piston pump is mainly used for water supply, and the manual piston pump is a family life water pump that is widely used. Piston pump is used to provide high pressure liquid source, such as high pressure water supply of hydraulic press, and it can be used as drilling mud pump and oil pump of oil field. Diaphragm pumps are particularly suitable for the delivery of highly toxic, radioactive, corrosive liquids, precious liquids and grinded solids containing liquids. Diaphragm pumps and piston pumps can also be used as metering pumps.
