This message is from John Tulipano:
I've got some updates regarding Carol Stream Fire Department. As part of the DuPage Fire Alliance numbering system, several station numbers have been changed. Here’s what’s new:
- Station 1 is now Station 28
- Station 2 is now Station 29
- Station 3 is now Station 27
These changes are part of an ongoing effort to standardize numbers across the alliance for better coordination and clarity.
In addition to the renumbering, I’ve taken photos of the new apparatus assigned to the updated stations. That includes Engine 29 and Tower Ladder 28, both of which are brand-new units. I also captured shots of Squad 27 and Squad 27A, which have now received their new designations.
Here are the details on the equipment:
**Carol Stream Tower Ladder 29** – A 2011 E-One Cyclone with a 2,000-GPM pump, 200 gallons of water, and a 95-foot tower ladder. This unit is well-equipped for high-angle rescue and fire suppression tasks.
**Carol Stream Engine 29** – A 2011 Spartan chassis equipped with an Alexis pumper, featuring a 1,500-GPM pump and 500 gallons of water. It’s a reliable and powerful engine for structural firefighting.
**Carol Stream Squad 27** – A 2006 model on a Spartan chassis with an Alexis pump. It has a 1,500-GPM pump and 750 gallons of water, making it ideal for rapid response and initial attack.
**Carol Stream Squad 27A** – A 2010 model also on a Spartan chassis, this unit supports the department with additional personnel and resources during larger incidents.
These updates reflect the continued modernization and improvement of the Carol Stream Fire Department’s fleet. Thanks to John Tulipano for capturing these great images and sharing the details.
