Can heavy truck companies get profits in the process of rectifying the logistics industry in the country?

Not long ago, the State Council introduced the “eight measures” of the political logistics industry in response to the high cost of the logistics industry in China, the arbitrary charges imposed on highways, arbitrary fines, and arbitrary installations of cards. The logistics industry involves the daily lives of the people and also involves China. Truck manufacturers, if the logistics industry can develop healthily, will play a catalytic role in my truck market.

The data released by the China Logistics Information Center shows that in 2010, China’s total cargo transportation reached 32 billion tons, of which nearly 75% was carried by highways, and the cost of passing bridges accounted for about 30% of the total transportation costs.

Liang Jiankun, general manager of Chengdu Mingkun Automobile Sales and Service Co., Ltd., told reporters that the cost of crossing the bridge accounted for about 1/3 of the transportation cost, and 1 heavy truck from Chengdu to Guangzhou had to cross the bridge and charge 8,000 yuan, if the cost of crossing the bridge Can be reduced by half, there is room for users to survive.

It is reported that the Zhengzhou Yellow River Highway Bridge, with a total investment of 178 million yuan, has been officially charged since 1986. By 1996, it had fully repaid its loans, and it has now illegally collected 1.45 billion yuan. In April 2009, the Henan Provincial Government issued the “Circular on Canceling the Charges of Second-Level Highway Repayments by the Provincial Government of the Province.” It will ban 158 highway toll stations, but 15 toll stations such as the Zhengzhou Yellow River Highway Bridge continue to charge and become the Henan Zhongyuan Expressway. An important source of profit for Highway Co., Ltd.

Judging from the gross profit margins disclosed by expressway listed companies, there are more than 50% of cases. Chongqing Luqiao gross profit margin even reached 92.34% in the first quarter of this year. The gross profit margin of the 54 listed companies in the auto industry was only 18.23% in the first quarter, while the gross margin of domestic logistics companies was generally below 10%. The high costs of crossing the bridge, indiscriminate fines and overcharging have become a heavy burden on logistics companies.

It is very serious that there are chaos on the roads, fines, and arbitrary charges on highways in China. It has been estimated that there are as many as 400 billion yuan in road penalties every year. At present, many domestic roads are not public welfare, but are money-making cash cows. They even have a sensational amount of billions of yuan to cross the bridge.

The “State of the Eight” is still at the level of macro guidance and lacks specific implementation details. The extent to which the cost of crossing the bridge has dropped is not yet clear. Relevant personnel said that it is expected that relevant departments in various regions will successively promulgate more detailed measures to support the development of the logistics industry.

The introduction of the "State of the Eight" will enable relevant departments to follow regulations in their future management practices. Liang Jiankun told reporters that the “State of the Eighth” is surely to benefit the country and the people. It is afraid that some places will not be implemented, and arbitrary charges will still go its own way, depending on whether the national policy can be implemented.

According to CNHTC, the “State of the Eight” is only a framework, and there are no specific implementation rules. Reducing the cost of passing through the bridge involves the interests of many departments, and it is difficult to fully implement it. The most fundamental issue is the distribution of benefits.

Any process from planning to execution to effectiveness requires a process. For the logistics industry that has not yet matured, we should be more patient and focus on solving the essence of the problem and fundamentally treat the chronic diseases in the logistics industry in China.
