Kalmar will supply 23 diesel-electric straddle carriers to South Africa
Recently, Kalmar has undertaken an order to supply 23 diesel-electric straddle carriers to Transnet Port Terminals (TPT), the straddle carrier operating company of South Africa with a container throughput of 2.6 million TEU.
It is reported that the contract also includes the provision of a straddle carrier simulation device for on-site training. The order was undertaken by Finnish Cargotec in the third quarter of 2016 and is scheduled to be delivered in 2017.
